Based in Denver, Colorado, The Rocky Mountain Canoe/Kayak Club, a whitewater club, was created to provide opportunity to all who wish to challenge themselves, at all levels of life, through paddle sports. Originally known as the Front Range Paddle Association or FRPA.
The RMCKC Development model is a shared vision of excellence through paddling, as opposed to simply paddling excellence. For us, the Olympic motto has been a guiding principle in all of our lives, making us not only better athletes, but hopefully better people. Our goal is not only the development of better athletes, but better people. Better people embody the ethics and values required to achieve paddling excellence.

“The program co-founder, Chris Wiegand, has structured his entire program in kayaking around the concept of respect and awareness. From his programs the youth have harvested a balanced perspective of balance in winning at life. This has taken many direct and subtle forms, all of which have been the result of the coaches desire to frame an experience for the young athlete where they respect and honor themselves, their sport and the broader community.”
