Camp InformationThis camp will highlight all disciplines of Whitewater Competition at the brand new class 2-3 whitewater course in San Marcos, Texas. This will be the 4th year that the FRPA has visited this tropical-like getaway. The training is ideal for developing and advanced paddle sport athletes alike. The training course is a natural hot spring that flows 200 cfs of 73 degree water, lined with banyan trees and paint turtles on river rocks. We will be setting camp at the Power Olympic Outdoor Center. No need to drive to our training camp, just hop in a boat an paddle a few hundred meters upstream to this "San Fabulous" training site. The Following events will be happening concurrently
Please be sure to pre-register for this camp as there is limited room (20 athletes) ! There is a 100.00 non refundable trip deposit due ASAP so that we can make arrangements for transportation, training groups, aditional coaches and final costs. Anticpated Costs: 850.00 per athlete (all inclusive once at the site..transport, race fees, food, camping fee, coaching) Dates: March 24- April 1st (I will have room for 7 athletes with me..1st come first serve based on deposit) Others will be picked up at the Austin Airport Coaches: Brendan Curson and Chris Wiegand Race: Texas Whitewater Championships (March 31-April 1st - Freestyle, Slalom and Sladeo) TRANSPORTATION VIA AIRLINE: Fly into Austin (30 minutes from site) for pick up by FRPA staff. All boats and gear will be transported from Denver, Colorado. Based on interest from other regions or countries, Brendan may also drive a sep. rented vehiclewith additional athletes. Those driving will return to Denver on the late morning of the 2nd of April. Flight Departures can be arranged for later Sunday the 1st of April.For boat shipping questions for athletes from other locations contact Chris. We will also provide trips to local river runs and fun, safe adventures for all abilities. Waterfalls, Tube Chutes and many more fun adventures we participate in each year.

Additional Camp Instruction from local POC Instructors: Swiftwater rescue – Do you know what to do if you get into trouble in a river? Would you enjoy your time on the water more with friends and family if you knew how to help them if they get into trouble? Come experience, analyze, prepare for and execute rescue scenarios with the guidance of professional rescue instructors. Fishing 101 – Do you want to be where the fish are without them knowing that you are there? Discover where to go, what to bring, and how to catch the next “big one” from a kayak or canoe. Rafting/ River permits – What do you paddle if you want or need to bring more than just the most basic equipment on the river? Some of America 's best stretches of river require multi-day trips, and only allow limited access. Find out how you can join local, and national groups to do these trips, and plan to organize your own trip with the help of experienced instructors.
